The profession of journalist is so cool, believe me!
Hey! My university gave me a magnificent opportunity two days ago. I had a chance to visit a two-day seminar that was like a training for the future journalists and was called “The international standarts of a journalism”. So we had a group that consisted of 20 people (there were 20 best students of our department I guess ) and we had 2 coaches, like 2 guests that came to make this seminar come true. One of them was a head of committee of journalistic ethics and a founder of a famous Ukrainian newspaper “Mirror of the week” Vladimir Mostovoy and the second guest was a professor and a doctor of philological sciences and a president of an Academy of Ukrainian Press Valeriy Ivanov.
I must say that they were so cool! I have received a lot of positive emotions and more than that – I have received a plenty of important and useful information, that might be very skilful in my future profession. Their visit to Lugansk turned out as the most interesting training that we have ever had! And I am glad that they have found free time to come to us and to show us some details of our profession, to share their experience, to tell us some stories about journalism, to give some examples from their practice…and actually they even called us as colleagues! Moreover the atmosphere of our class was so kind and friendly, our special guests were joking and they seemed to be easy-going and even funny. We had some common coffee breakes and we were able to discuss some different topics, and our students had an opportinity to ask them some questions. The training was like a fairytale because we could hardly believe that it could be the truth and we were really excited that we became such a lucky group to attend this meeting!
So after that I can tell you for sure that I don’t regret about my profession choice, I am really happy that I have entered this department and I have such opportunities to visit these professional trainings! That is why I can give you an advice to choose the profession that will be close to your heart
